Camilla was born in Montgomeryshire in 1988, growing up as the third child of four on a busy family farm near Meifod, Welshpool in the heart of Mid-Wales. She studied at Manchester College of Art & Design and obtained a BA (hons) degree in Embroidery.
After graduating Camilla worked in London for Jack Wills as a Creative Concept Designer for 3 years and then moved to Amsterdam to work for Tommy Hilfigure for 6 years, designing store interiors internationally. She is now working as a full time artist from her Dutch studio and calls Amsterdam her home.
Camilla creates abstract paintings. She is heavily influenced and continually inspired by nature and the essence of her surroundings. Her paintings are sensitive reactions to the ever changing landscapes and the connecting visible layers of land, sea and sky. She is fascinated by the depth and magnitude of the colours, shapes, perspectives and patterns within nature.
Camilla's work is characterised by her love of layering and mark making. She explores the relationship between a combination of dense and transparent layers. Her paintings feature bold palettes of colour and she works in a variety of mediums: acrylic, graffiti, pastel, spray paint, graphite and embroidery.
It is obvious from her paintings that she has an innate connection with all her surroundings which are portrayed so vividly on canvas.
